Senzo Studio
I helped Senzo Studio launch a new VFX portfolio website from scratch to better showcase their work and increase qualified project inquiries from agencies and production companies, resulting in a 42% increase in Vimeo views in the first 3 months after launch.
Problem
Context
Senzo Studio is a VFX studio working with agencies and production companies on commercial and narrative projects. Their work is highly visual and detail-oriented, but their previous online presence didn’t reflect that level of craft or reliability.
Challenge
Before this project, it was hard for visitors to quickly understand what Senzo Studio did, see strong recent work, or know how to reach out. Most new clients arrived through word of mouth, so the real challenge was turning a scattered, outdated presence into a focused, conversion-oriented portfolio site.
Research
Benchmarking leading VFX studios
To define the visual and product direction for the portfolio, I ran a comparative analysis of two established VFX studios, Folks and WetaFX, to understand how they present their work to agencies and production companies and which design patterns make it easier to quickly evaluate a studio’s capabilities.
Key Insights
The reel as the main decision point
In both portfolios, the showreel sits at the center of the experience: it appears in the hero, with almost no friction to play it and very little surrounding copy.
Cinematic aesthetics, UI in the background
The overall look and feel is close to a screening room: dark backgrounds, sober typography, restrained use of color and strong focus on frames and video.
Design Decisions
Hero centered on the reel
I defined a hero where Senso Studio’s showreel is the main element, playable in a single tap / click and supported only by a short piece of copy and one clear call to action.
Business impact
Improves conversion, filters leads better, and reinforces Senzo Studio’s high-end positioning.
Clear hierarchy between discovery and contact
The flow guides users from the reel and case studies towards the contact section, with calls to action that are visible but not aggressive.
Business impact
To increase the proportion of informed, high-intent leads while protecting trust and reducing drop-offs from overly pushy prompts.
Dark visual style with content first
I chose a dark, neutral palette, clean typography and large imagery blocks, avoiding decorative elements that would compete with the audiovisual material.
Business impact
Reinforcing Senzo Studio’s premium positioning and making it easier for potential clients to quickly assess quality and fit.

Impact
The goal of the project was to improve how Senzo Studio showcases its work in order to increase both reel views and contact requests from agencies and production companies. In the first months after launch, there were measurable improvements on both fronts.

Learnings
This two-week project with Senso Studio was a focused exercise that reinforced several ideas about how to approach B2B portfolios for creative studios under tight time and scope constraints.
The right focal point simplifies many decisions
Identifying early that the reel is the key asset for agencies and production companies allowed me to prioritize it in the layout, in the IA, and in the success metrics.
Tie UI decisions to business metrics
Linking specific decisions (reel-centric hero, project-based IA, clear CTAs) to clear metrics (reel views and contact requests) made it much easier afterwards to talk about impact instead of only talking about aesthetics.
